MSA ACADEMY DIRECTOR
The MSA director Sam Koch enters
his 17th season as the head coach of the UMass men's soccer team
as the most successful coach ever in program history. Under his
guidance, the Minutemen have won three regular season Atlantic
10 titles, one Atlantic 10 Tournament title and made their only
NCAA Tournament appearance. Koch has compiled a 154-98-23 overall
record in Amherst, recording 11 winning seasons During his tenure
in Amherst, the 20-year head coaching veteran has produced a
two-time All-American in Jeff Darren (2001-02), a two-time Atlantic
10 Offensive Player of the Year, two Atlantic 10 Rookies of the
year, an Atlantic 10 Tournament MVP, 14 All-New England selections,
42 All-Atlantic 10 players, 20 Academic All-Atlantic 10 honorees,
and 17 Atlantic 10 All-Tournament picks. |

MSA QUALIFIED COACHES
The Massachusetts Soccer Academy (MSA) staff will
feature an all-star collection of the nation’s top collegiate,
club, and scholastic coaches. The collective knowledge and experience
of the staff will help develop the skills and soccer know-how of
the next generation of soccer stars. Enhancing the learning experience
are the demonstrations of skill and playing ability by University
of Massachusetts top players.
On and off the field the Massachusetts Soccer
Academy (MSA) offers the best supervision for participants. Certified
athletic trainers are on duty 24 hours a day. They will provide
immediate medical attention to anyone who is injured or becomes
ill, and will attend to all general athletic training needs. During
the residential academy the trainers and coaches will be staying
in the same dormitory as the campers. All activities are closely
supervised. |
